I am a final year student studying in the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, major in Environmental Engineering and Sustainable Development. It is my very great honour to have this golden opportunity participating in the internship programme of TAISE.
During these two months, I have assisted in organizing the projects related to sustainable development, for example, Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Award (TCSA), which has been held for more than 10 years. This task allows me understanding comprehensively about the corporate sustainability reportage workshops.
Besides, I have involved in organizing and projecting 2018 Climate Dialogue on Sustainability Forum and “2018 Taiwan in My Eyes 120h- Where is Sustainability”. Apart from that, TAISE and CCS have expanded their work worldwide, hosting the Global Corporate Sustainability Forum(GCSF) and Global Corporate Sustainability Awards (GCSA), which I supported them by utilizing what I have learnt in my university courses, with the data analysis, information statistics and so on.
There are not only works during the internship, but also visiting some environmental business and facilities like Dihua Wastewater Treatment Plant, E&E Recycling and Bali Reuse Incineration Plant, which were arranged by Dr. Wang , Deputy Secretary General of CCS. I obtain a deeper understanding about the process of waste water treatment in Taiwan, their advanced technology and management in recycling electric product and the operation of Incineration Plant that Hong Kong is constructing one in Shek Kwu Chau. These exposure has broaden my horizons which may be beneficial to my future career.
Last but not least, I am so glad that I have this opportunity to observe how Taiwan have advocated sustainable development from what they have done. The whole world is chasing for higher level of sustainability to make our world a better place to live in including Hong Kong. I believe this experience gives me a better insight on how Hong Kong can learn from Taiwan accomplishing outstanding achievement in sustainability
